Early 70's, we used to hang out on the resupply wagon for the grain drill when we were probably 5 or 6 years old. One time for reasons unknown, the grain drill disappeared over the horizon and never came back. After some discussion and near panic, we decided to make the long journey on foot back to the farm (probably all of 1/2 mile). Funny how you think the world might be coming to an end when you're that age. My friend is dead now, for 28 years. I'll never forget those times.
