I second the finding someone you trust. Recently purchased my first tractor a Farmall 340. Threw a rod before I could get it home. Found out seller was hoping it would hold till he cashed my check. Lucky me it was a Saturday afternoon!!! Arranged to get out of the deal - cost $150.
So now own my 2nd tractor a D17 - has series IV decals but is really a series I.
So my advise is make sure you know who you are dealing with and what you are buying. Luckily for me the D17 is a good tractor and I didn't give full series IV price.
