Wasn't a goose neck, but my former Grandfather in law used to pull a 28' bumper pull camper about 12 miles a year with about a 93 S10, 4X4 with a 4.3. I he only went about 25 mph and I would not have thought it'd do it but he pulled it to river camp every spring when the water went down and back home every fall.
