Writting to the government officials does help the job market. Postal worker sell stamps, Government worker throws letters in trash, garbage man has extra hrs picking up paper trash from government facilities. All three workers pay taxes, (maybe not the politicians friend hired to toss envelopes in trash) stimulates the economy.
