My first husband and I were living with his parents while he finished his masters degree. We bought a small aluminum boat and and about 10hp used outboard. We took it to the lake and got about 100 yds offshore when the motor died. He couldn't get it started. He pulled the plug wire, stuck a screwdriver in it and told me to hold it while he pulled the engine over. I got a pretty good jolt.
I was so mad if we had been closer to shore, I would have turned the boat over and swam back to shore. That's just one of many reasons why we aren't married anymore.
It's really not a funny story is it?
