Dave , What kind of relationship does he have with his Dad ? Maybe looking for a kind word of encouragement, and he enjoys pleasing someone who appreciates what he can do.You may be the only one that speaks positive to him. I know if I HAVE to do something, it is less enjoyable than if I WANT to do something.
