I sold my 1977 460 when it at 241,000 miles on it, never had it apart. I put a three speed Brownie behind the beefed up C 6. It made one heck of a truck. It would get 14 MPG empty and 9 MPG pulling the same load that the 97 Dodge Cummins gets 12 MPG. My 83 460 had a 4 speed with 3;08 axle and was sold with 138,000 miles, saw it yesterday, it now has 175,000 miles and still runs like new.
