JB, Most machine shops sell parts and if you want them to help you if there is a warranty problem, you should buy from them. In my shop if a job comes in to clean and do all the slave labor and customer wants to buy parts from a mail order, I tell him to send the block etc to the mail order and let them do the slave labor as they are going to make the money on the parts. There is no money in doing the cleaning etc.
