Its odd because yesterday at the auction in West Michigan, hay was still at the same price it has been for the better part of 6 months. There is one guy who brings in a truckload of round bales, not very good hay but if the cows are hungry they would eat it. Those round bales still brought 47 a piece, they have been 40-65 every sale for the last 6 months. And square bales, what recession, still saw bales over $5. Maybe the horse people haven't heard how bad things are.
