I am sorry to hear what happened here. Without knowing all the specifics, while I agree that you should not be drunk driving, most accidents caused by drunks are 2.0 or better and a DUI is .08. DUI should be something like 1.5. Think about all the other things that cause accidents...cell phones, eating, reading, makeup, sleepy, etc. I don"t like to see accidents, but they happen and there are lots of causes. DUI has become singled out as the problem and I tell you there are so many more bigger problems than the person that has a few beers. DUI is a huge money maker and seems focused on when lets focus on more serious crimes. I know several good people who have gotten pulled over, got DUI, paid dearly.
