Oh, yes, during that time, i scrapped some old lawn mowers, and a lot of scrap i had laying around! No lawn tractors, except for really bad ones. But as you say--a lot of good stuff went to China, that should not have been scrapped! Shortly after WW II, and when i was home from the war, i drove past a local scrap yard, and i could see 2 really nice steam tractors in the yard, being cut up for scrap! I wasn't able to have one at home, even if i could have bought one, but i guess they dropped them on Korea, or Viet nam, later, in some form!
