Since you don't indicate the year of the engine I would like to make the following suggestion. If the engine has "babbited" bearings, NEVER use a detergent oil. Contrary to what some have said and written, this type of bearing requires parafin to work properly. Now if your vehicle is more "modern", then a straight weight detergent would be okay. Since you don't indicate what wt. oil you are currently using, I would just suggest moving up one wt. class from what you are using now.
