Most older tractor and engine companies reccomend 30wt. detergent oil for all temperatures above freezing. Some further stipulate that the use of multiweight oil will cause increased oil consumtion. For an older engine working hard in hot weather I'd even use 40wt. For temps from 32F down to zero use 20w. The w stands for winter in this case, not weight. Below zero use 10w.
