Intake and fuel pumps are on opposite sides from 400 to 70 series. Might have issue with fan/water pump as 70 series is not in the block. (might need to lengthen 400 hood and raise radiator) Not sure if the bell housing is the same. I know early 830 bellhousings were the same as 800's. With that same thought the 400 and 870 very well could line up. Probably have smaller or larger bolts. Sounds like a lot of work but anything can be done.
