A 4 wheeler is a lot more maneuverable and can back up and shift gears way faster. Also 4 wheelers have spring trip blades. If you're going fast and hit something solid, you better have a seat belt on. I used to clear snow with a skid steer. I hit a curb that a big loader had broken a piece out of. I was going about 1 mph and it was like running into a concrete wall doing about 20 mph. If I had been using a tractor and been going faster, I would have catuputed off the seat and either onto the hood or through the windshield. In heavy packed or wet snow I don't think either machine would work very good. No down pressure and your blade might be too wide to push if it was completely full pushing in deep snow. Fresh snow fall it should work pretty good though. Dave
