Those are pretty trouble free engines so I wonder if it actually has major problems ?
The bottom of the intake has a plate sealed with a gasket and if the gasket leaks oil gets sucked into the engine at a high rate.
Should also be easy to find a good used engine with all those sold and rotted out. You may just find another whole truck cheap too. Many of them have tranny bad.
