Hey there Old: Sorry about being late to reply. I guess that I was thinking like others here. I"ll turn 76 on the 29th this month. You mentioned curving wood, it isn"t that difficult. I"ve known of making a bowed "truss". All you have to do is soak the wood, maybe a week or two. The wood should be as long as you can get, (I would use 1X4s). Then you need to "layout" the truss shape, (high or low dome) on a flat area, using stakes to hold the pieces in place till they dry, then curve the "wet" 1X4s around the stakes, I would use a spacer (*2X4X10" 3-4 ft. apart) between two "ribs" (1X4s), to give greater strength. Nail parts together (with water proof glue), let dry. I don"t know how to post a drawing, or I would! Bob God Bless
