Well depending on where you live on who it is sold to. Some to a co-op and some to an ethanol plant and some to the elevator. Then there is how you sell it just deliver at harvest,forward contract,hedge to arrive,basis,options,hedge. These would all take volumes to explain and lots of reading on your behalf. If your only going to rasie a few acres then just selling off the comine will probably be the route. If your raising over a 1000bu of one crop then you could look at contracting again volumes of options and learning. Then you might just be in an area where you can fit a niche market for some crop and supply a customer like a dairy with hay or truck farming (produce crops). Then the land you have may not be suited for some crops and better for others.
