The AMISH here in western Wisconsin are having problems from the "we know what's best for you" building inspectors. It's caused by building their own homes without a building permit. A building permit is, of course, just another excuse for a tax. They are being cited for using full deminsion 2 x 4s, etc., instead of the thin stuff from the lumber yard. The inspector says that lumber yard stuff "meets code", their home stuff doesn't! Ever seen an Amish home fall down from using full deminsion home sawn lumber ??
