I was shop manager for the local school bus terminal in our small town. First Student took over Laidlaw and they expected one man to maintain 40 buses. There were only two of us in the shop and could barely keep up with the maintenance program plus all the write ups the drivers had turned in. Cooporate office kept piling on more for us shop guys to do and I asked for help and didn't get a response. Well I quit and now they have four guys doing what two of us did. Makes me made when I think about it but my new job is a lot less stressful and I enjoy it very much. The owner for who I work for now, asked me how I like working for his company and I said I like it very much then told him that I just hope everyone likes me. His reply was; "I (the owner) would be the first one to know if they didn't".
We should be happy and to consider ourselves very lucky that we have a job of 40 hours a week now days.
