Simple answer is NO. Ya you can do the reducer thing but it would cost you 3 or 4 times what the bulbs would. So if your going to switch it to 12 volts bite the bullet and spend another $10 or so for the bulb and be done with it. Cost all total should be less then $100 if you do the work your self and know the right places to buy the stuff. Alternator around $35 wires another $10 battery $35-50 so even with new bulbs you can do it for less then $100
