I have a L-785 and the top broke off the dripstik just as yours. You need to screw out the stem that the dripstick go's in, to get the broken piece ot of the crankcase. then you can repair it or have a patern to make one. at any rate, the dripstick from the top of the stem is 12 and 3/8 inchs long. the add or "min mark" is 1/4 inch from end and full or max mark is 1 and 3/8 inchs from end. I took one from a 4 cylinder auto engine, cut to the right length, marked it with a file, does'e the job==saved 50.oo Hope this helps you .Happy Hollidays Lloyd
