lawn tractor with lug tires

A while back, I was at the local dealership looking for an inexpensive lawn/garden tractor for small pulling jobs. A couple of Wheelhorse units had just been dropped off, and I gave them a quick look, and moved on. I'm still kicking myself. These were approx 8 hp, pull start, with lug (field) tires. I ended up with a Gravely, which is ok, but the low engine position is a problem when fording the creek, and the turf tires loose their grip easily. I've been scouting for one of those old Wheelhorses, without luck. Question...did other brands offer a tiny unit like this with lug tires? Would chains match pulling ability? Thank you.
