How many hours on the engine? What is the total mileage and what was it used for? Those 7.3s are bullet proof if cared for with many at the 300,000 to 350,000 miles and still running strong. I would diagnose before jumping to expensive conclusions. Has the cam sensor been updated as these gave problems over time?
