Per Dave2 's reply: In 1961 a fella was trying to "burn out", to impress people, in front of the main PX, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Just as the tires were smoking, the front universal joint, behind the transmission, broke, the driveshaft dug into to the ground, and stopped him so fast that a spring shackle broke. Dozens of people saw it and were laughing.
