We have a small sawmill nearby that saws up retired telephone poles for building timbers and such. They saw the poles into 2" thick 6" wide slabs for trailer flooring and it works great. The poles were treated with creosote when they were made and are very rot resistant. They only semi trailer I have out of nine that isnt floored with this stuff is the one we move the big dozer with and we feel that the pine from the old poles just isnt hard enough to stand up to the tracks when we spin it around after crawling over the side. We use the oak for it because of its hardness but it just doesn't last as long against the weather.
