Uh...This is getting scarey. Most hardcore 4X4 guys know that a 'snatch' rope is NOT a good idea. A Heavy Duty Winch and cable over 1/4 inch, or a come-along and chain is the only way to go. Even then, winching is scarey and dangerous and is certainly NOT recommended for stump removal. I may not know a lot about tractors, but I have a whack of experience with being stuck in 4X4's. The first time I saw a fool with a snatch rope, I got the heck out of there. The things snap allright! Usually at one end or the other and then they are a rubber band missile. I have seen 'aircraft' cable snap with less force. If you try and jerk anything, be it a stuck vehicle or a stump, you are just asking for it. I know lots of loggers that use the front blade on their skidders for stumps. If they can not move them with the blade, the stump waits for the 'Cat'. I agree with them...My 2�
