I bought a portable handheld digital audio recorder. It uses SD cards for memory. The book says make sure the SD card is formatted. How do I find out if a card is formatted? I have a digital camera that uses SD cards and it"s manual doesn"t say anything about formatting the card and I"ve never given that a thought before and the camera works just fine. I also have an external card reader attached to a USB port on my computer that accepts SD and some other memory cards. That card reader"s software doesn"t mention anything about formatting cards either.
