The 2 6 volt batteries are what I remember our 1066 having and that was factory. Supposedly the 6v batteries in series are suppose to have a slight advantage over comparable sized 12v batteries. Down side is if one 6v is dead you are just about dead in the water vs limping along with one vs 2 12v's. Can't remember for sure but thought the plates in a 6v were larger. I am sure someone will know the exact reason why.
