Turn the crank very slowly on the compression stroke for number one piston, when you hear the mag impluse click check the inspection hole on the flywheel. the timeing mark should be centered. The mark could be a drilled hole or a stamped letter or letters, like a D, DC, or DC1. At this point the points should be just ready to open and the rotor should be pointing to Number one plug wire terminal. Fireing order is 1-3-4-2 on the older case tractors. Good luck
