i'm interested in the mechanicals too, i figured out a way to build a 1 ton 6x6 too but it would have had a transfer case between the 2 live rear ends to direct power and the front rear axle would be actually a front axle as it would be turned backward to recieve power from the 2nd transfer case which in turn would get its power from regular transfer case, also the axles would have been mounted on a shop made rocker style suspension, [ similar to a spring set on a big truck] as both axles have to be able rotate independant of each other, in other words when driven over a speed bump all 3 axles would remain on the ground, ive seen some tag axle 1 tons with the axle mounded on a seperate set of springs, when the "dead" axle goes over a bump it would lift the powered axle off the ground and the truck would stop, not the desired efect, my set up should have provided full 6wheel drive, 4 wheel drive using the front and 3rd axles,4wheel drive using only the rear axles and regular 2 wheel drive as well as theroeticly front wheel drive only [ rear transfer case in nutural] how did you set your power train and suspension up?
