I've never had any luck with WD-40 here. It just won't fire in a cold engine. I have used it with some degree of success in dumping it into an engine that has a fuel system in need of bleeding... and it will generally give them enough 'fuel' to get spinning over and start without opening the lines, but it's useless as a cold start aid here. I've also noticed lately that it doesn't even work/help with bleeding those tough engines. A good blast of propane from a propane torch will help get them going, but I never tried that for cold starting. Ether is the only real option here if you need a cold starting aid and don't have a block heater or some type of intake heater installed.
