Do you have spark at the plugs or just at the coil? If you checked spark at the coil wire it may not be getting to the plugs meaning it may be going to ground in side the distributor cap. Look for carbon arcing inside the cap. It will look like some one drew inside with a lead pencil. I've seen gas and diesel engines not start or even sputter on starting aides.
