Thanks to those who gave me pointers on removal of the head from the block. Got it done. Ended up being there was a head bolt heater that went all the way into the block. I had never seen one of these before and didn't realize it would go down that far. Turned it out and the head slid right up. Now I want to remove the oil pan, but after dropping it down it seems as though I'll have to take the front end support off to get the pan down? I've tried twisting and repositioning it, but it always hits either the front axle or the bell housing before it rotates enough to slid out from under the oil pump and out from under the tractor. Any thing I'm missing, or should I take the front end loose?
