One of my Deeres had air brakes once. I'd gotten it into water and moisture had gotten into the rods on both rears and rusted them in place from settin, and as I was rolling down hill not in gear and stomped both peddles...nothing but air air and more air and gaining speed. Didn't break no land speed records, but a tractor can sure pickup speed free wheeling down hill and don't handle the bounces as good as dune buggies. At least I had the presence of mind to eventually drop the loader which didn't help a whole lot until I tilted it and it dug in and then I had dirt brakes, and I sure did stop kind of abruptly, which I didn't mind so much under the conditions. My eyeballs were as big as saucers and my heart was beatin through my chest for awhile too. I sure did take time to fix that and if I really hold it down now can pretty much pivot that son of a gun on a 3' dime, left or right. Maybe tighter, but I don't want to take a chance breakin nothin in there. Air brakes on a tractor are kind of dangerous, in my opinion.
