I am down by Gettysburg and everybody should get here sometime. The recommendation of a battlefield guide is good. We get over once or twice a year and I never get tired of it. Probably could spend a week there by itself if you are into history at all.
Don't know how long you are visiting, but amish country in Lancaster county is OK if you like it. The Bible based shows at Sight and Sound Theatre (also Lancaster) are good, not sure what, if anything, is at the Hershey theater or American Music Theater (again Lancaster), but they can be very good. Lots of places to eat, but if you have a chance try the buffet at Hershey Hotel (of course the desserts are the highlight). The other recomendations for Hershey are seconded by me as well.
The Harley factory tour in York is good as well as the snack food factory tours in Hanover (close to Gettysburg).
If you head the other direction Steamtown in Scranton is a good time.
I generally don't consider shopping an activity, but if you have travel companions who do PA does not have a sales tax on clothing so that could mean something to you.
