I just purchased an old Essex with a flathead six It has been stored inside since 1974. the engine is not set up and their is oil in the crankcase. I think I should put something that says miracle on the can into each sparkplug hole to free up the rings but haven't found the right can. An older mechanic suggested Kero or Diesel fuel. I have plenty of time because there are other things to fix. What do you suggest to put in their and no I don't know that the rings are set up but I have lots of time to let it soak.

If impossible to place tractor under cover, be sure to cover air stack and exhaust pipe. Drain radiator and engine block. To avoid gum content collections, drain both fuel tanks and carburetor. Leave radiator and fuel caps slightly loose to protect gaskets. Block tractor up to remove weight from tires and to keep tires from contact with moist floor.
