I hear that more often. The power bill is trough the roof,Or,every month its more than the last.
But How much do you try to save in order to cut the waste in energie and lower the montly bill. My power bill is less than 2 grand a year,has been like that for some yrs allready.Even though i have a 70' x 28'shop with welders,a big lathe and a host of other electr equipment,+ 2200' house,pumphouse and 3 electr heated livestock drinkers.
There is so much one can do to save energie. I Turn of lights or appliances when not needed. I heat with wood in the house and shop. Yard lights are no longers used either,only when needed. Going green sounds nice, but initial cost of THAT is trough the roof IMO.All the money saved in the long run is paid up front when installing it,and after time that stuff needs replacement again too.And most times you still need to have the grid in case there is no sun and/or wind.
