It's always a good idea to drain the rearend and fill it with fresh oil. If you find it's real old oil, pretty chunky and crappy it's good to fill the rearend, after you have drained it, with diesel fuel and roll her around a bit to clean the tranny out good. Dump the diesel and fill it with 80w90 which is more than sufficient for those old girls.
