The F40 is the same tractor as the Massey Ferguson 50 and Massey Harris 50 except for the sheet metal. Power steering components from any of these would interchange. I think you can use most of the steering parts from a MF65 as well, except for he pump due to different engines. It won’t be cheep to convert. Three years ago I got all the needed parts from TIPS to convert my wide front MF50 to power steering. They provided an entire "kit" including new hydraulic hoses to completely convert my tractor. The price three years ago was $850. I don't know what it would be today or even if they have all the parts still available but you could give them a try. The parts where used, not rebuilt just as you would expect from a salvage yard but after replacing a couple old O-rings and some adjustments, the system worked and is still working three years later.
