When I was six and my brother was four, we managed to get my dad's 8N started, much to the horror of my mother. Fortunately we didn't manage to get it in gear.
I honestly don't remember what tractor I first actually operated, but it must have been the 8N. By the time I was 15, I had operated the 8N, Fordson Major, Farmall M, JD 820, JD 5010 and probably a few others I don't remember. I remember that the 820 was a pretty easy tractor for a kid to operate, except for the hand clutch. I think the Major is my favorite tractor from that time, although I've spent more time (probably over a thousand hours) operating the 5010 than any other tractor.
