I started out sleeping on my dads lap in the late 60's on a 4000 Ford pulling a JD #5 sickle mower. I still remember well even though I wasnt much more than a toddler. First one I drove solo was our first diesel, and first new tractor, a 1975 885 Case/DB. It, and the 990 Case/DB that followed it sure seemed like the stuff. Then I remember when we got a 5600 Ford in 1981, those old Cases seemed kind of faded and worn. Still got the 5600. Sure miss that investment tax credit from the 70's, seemed like dad got a new tractor every couple of years. Havent had a new one on the place since.
