Typar is a form of house wrap intended for the outside of the house. It's main purpose is to stop the infiltration of air from the outside to the inside of the house and to allow the house to exhale the moisture from the inside to the outside. A plastic "vapor" barrier is placed on the inside walls between the insulation and drywall or interior finish material. It's purpose is to keep moisture from the inside getting into the wall cavity and getting the insulation wet.
