the h4 mag you have in the vise is upside down turn it over. if you look between the impulse coupling( the part you were turning) and the side of the case you will see a little dog, screw like thing that has to use gravity for it to catch. clip a vise grip on one ear of the coupling and trip it several times, it should work. ground a spark plug with a wire on it to the vise. put the other end in the coil cap and watch for a spark on every snap. with your coil to cap wire installed plug you spark plug wire into one of the four remaining points of the dist.cap, you will only get a spark every fourth snap of the coupling. this should cure what ails you.
