The difference is that your taxes are not paying for everyone else's benefits. Most of them seem to be able to provide for themselves.
Seems out of wack to me that a guy could spend 12 years in the Marines fighting for his life, and our liberty, and does not receive life-long benefits, like you do, and you don't feel the least bit shamed by that. That's all.
