in the late 50's and early 60,s led ballast (not lead) was used in tire for more weight than calcuim. it was ground rock with no lead in the mixture. it turned out to be a mess. 100% fill with about 10#'s air, when lost the air the power ate up the inside of the tires. always collected moisture and was very hard to remove from the tire. many tires were cut off the rims only to get rid off the stuff. we were IH dealers at the time and have to admit we filled many tire with the crap. it isn't dangerious just a pain in the rear end.
