Interesting. We tested the US Army's Overland Train in Yuma Arizona back in the early 1960's. It used Solar Saturn turbine engines powering Westinghouse DC generators that fed the wheel mounted traction motors. An amusing part of the whole thing was a turbine powered auxiliary power unit that was hand cranked by two men, one on each side. In effect, that whole train could be started with hand cranks. LeTourneau built the train. Firestone made the tires, and Westinghouse the electrics. Is your turbine hand cranked also?
