I posted this on the Massey board also.
My 285 has 2 internal pumps, one to operate the 3 pt lift and one that operates the remotes and the Bushhog loader. According to my mechanic, the pump that operates the loader needs to be replaced. The dealer quoted about $800 for a replacement pump.
My questions are: Is there a company that rebuilds these pumps? Is the $800 price reasonable? Do you have te split the tractor to change out the pump?
Any help you guys can give me will be appreciated.
