ive had some sucess with making a circle around the tree with hog wire fencing, make it so that the deer cant reach the tree by leaning over the fence, but close enough to the tree so they wont risk jumping over the fence either, also i used 6 t posts set in a circle around the tree and ran 30 lb test fishing line around the tree on the posts about 10 times top to bottom,[ i didnt have any wire fencing on hand] apparently they cant see the fishing line but they hit it and dont know what it is, and it spooks them
