Gary, check to see if water didn't leak into the housing and is in the bottom and raised the level of fluid in there and flooding the axle area, just get a 5 gal bucket and go back behind the tractor and unscrew the drain plug under the pto unit, and let out a little gear oil, if water comes out, then you'll find out what I'm talking about here...
